Mr. Adelegan’s foray into entrepreneurship started with his successful planning and execution of Lekki Sunsplash, Africa’s biggest musical event in 1988. This concert led to a radical re-engineering that changed the Nigerian musical scene. Conceptualized, packaged and promoted by DP Lekki Limited, the concert was created as a podium and vehicle for introducing and harnessing the abundant talents in the nation’s music industry.
A proven academic and a rare breed, Adedapo Adelegan fuses irrepressible entrepreneurial flair with strong corporate leadership. By taking over PR Africa International and transforming it from an industry laggard to a pre-eminent position in the industry, he carved a niche for himself with his now legendary knack for turn-around management and visionary leadership.
Adedapo Adelegan is a member of several prestigious local and international institutes. Some of which include; Council member of the Nigeria British Chamber of Commerce, Council member International Public Relations Association (IPRA), Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing of Nigeria, President Abuja Business Club, etc.
Adelegan is a consummate marketer and he is recognized as one of the top 50 marketing experts in Nigerian Marketing Memoirs, a landmark marketing publication authored by two Nigerian editors. Dapo Adelegan continues to spread the message of ‘Made-In-Nigeria’ as well as providing leadership and entrepreneurship training to the Nigerian Youths through his “Life in the 21st Century” lecture series.
