New Year Gathering – Day 4.The Breeding Ground For Creative Thinking II By, Pastor Tunde Bakare.
Today’s session will consider three segments of yesterday’s teaching.
FIRST SEGMENT
This is a revision of yesterday’s message, where we saw that Friendship with God is the breeding ground for creative thinking. It is a launchpad into the realm of incredible revelations and mysteries that only Jesus Christ can give through the Holy Spirit. John 15:14-15.
Pure and Unadulterated Imitation* of God was the strategy that Jesus used.
Isaac also imitated Abraham, instead of reinventing the wheel. Genesis 26:18.
We also need to be imitators of God.
Faith begins where and when the Will of God is known.
Don’t assume that you have faith until you know the Will of God. Matthew 8:1-4; Luke 5:12-15.
Hebrews 11:8-10 shows what made Abraham a friend of God: He heard God, he obeyed God, and God ticked him as His friend. James 2:14-23.
Abraham became the friend of God by Obedience. He was also able to pass on legacy wealth to Isaac by Obedience. Genesis 26:1-6.
Don’t presume on God and call it faith.
The end product of presumption is death. Psalm 19:7-14.
The “great transgression” in Psalm 19:13 is presuming what God is not, and acting on that presumption.
SECOND SEGMENT.
Yesterday, we profiled Joseph and Daniel and how they gave answers of peace to Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar respectively, answers which led to elevations for both.
The question to answer then is how can we get answers of peace? Genesis 41:37-46.
Daniel spoke with humility before the king. Daniel 2:24-30,46-49.
We should bear in mind that Nebuchadnezzar had enormous reach to the heavens and the ends of the Earth. Daniel 4:1-22; 5:17-30.
When God wants to elevate you, there is no one he cannot depose, but you must be humble.
God is the only source of the answer of peace. God reveals answers of peace to those who trust in Him. Psalm 28:7-9.
In Psalm 28:9, “save your people” means God will save them from everything contrary to their destinies.
After saving them, He will bless them as His inheritance. Psalm 29:11.
After blessing His inheritance, the Lord will shepherd them and bear them up forever.
God bears us up to elevate us. Standing on the shoulders of God means foresight and farsight for oversight. Psalm 68:35.
THIRD SEGMENT.
This segment is about the scope of the Revelatory Truths that the Holy Spirit can teach or reveal to us so that the Will of God will be known.
The scope covers General Knowledge about everything – all that God has done in the past, what He is doing in the present, and what He will do in the future. John 14:25-26.
God wants you to be an All-rounder, to have General Knowledge about everything. 1 Cor. 2:7-12.
The things freely given to us by God fall into three categories – the Past, Present, and Future.
Experience is not the best teacher; the Holy Spirit is.
John 14:26 relates to knowledge of the past.
John 16:13a* relates to knowledge of present truths (2 Peter 1:1-12).
John 16:13b* relates to knowledge of the future. Hebrews 13:7-9.
