The Uncommon Open Heaven by Pastor Tunde Bakare

Text: 2 Chronicles 30: 1-15.

Preamble.

History belongs to intercessors.
Nothing happens on earth except, through and by the Prayer of Saints of God.

God spoke about the Seed of a woman in the garden of Eden that will crush the head of the Serpent, and no further detail was given, Genesis 3: 14-15.

Isaiah the Prophet gave the Emmanuel prophecy in Isaiah 7:14. He specifically prophesied of “the” virgin, not a virgin. He further prophesied in chapter 9 verses 6-7 that a Child was born and a Son was given. The only difference between the Child and the Son is 30 years. This is because God will not use an untested vessel.

Isaiah took the prophecy from the lips of God to show us between the virgin and the Seed the manner of man on whose shoulder the government will be placed.

There is a time for prophecy, there is a time for fulfillment. That God said it is enough.

However, there must be a human vessel who will bring on Earth what is settled in Heaven.

Two people, Simeon of Jerusalem, Luke 2: 25-35 and Anna, a Prophetess, Luke 2:36-38 anchored the manifestation of the Presence of Christ on Earth.

Christ who came to this planet was contingent upon the Prayer of these two people.

Although the Prophetic Word had been given, they laid hold upon it.

Notwithstanding the Prophetic Word of God spoken by the Prophet, people are still required to push and pray to bring the Word to manifestation.

It should be understood that once God has proposed against a people, except they repent like the people of Nineveh, intercession for God’s mercy by the most powerful intercessors might have just been a waste of time.

Under this circumstance, every wise intercessor should only pray for his own personal mercy from God.

God mentioned five powerful intercessors in human history – Moses, Samuel, Noah, Daniel and Job and stated clearly that their intercession cannot remedy His defined judgment on persistent unfaithfulness, Ezekiel 14: 12-20,  Jeremiah 15:1-8.

Verse 4 of Jeremiah 15 refers to when God through Prophet Isaiah instructed King Hezekiah to put his house in order because of his imminent death but the king pleaded for more years to live. Whereas God had wanted to save him from trouble, because of his plea God granted him 15 more years.

Within the first 3 years  of his life extension King Hezekiah gave birth to Manasseh.

Manasseh filled Jerusalem with blood and went into idolatry when he became king.

It is foolishness to say that prayer can change prophecy.

If these five intercessors could not withhold God from dispensing judgment we will need more than strength, prayer skill and ability to pray for long hours non-stop.

What we need is to ask God for the release of the Spirit of Grace and Supplication, one of the seven Spirits of God so that we will not pray on our strength but with Divine ability.

It is only God that answers God. That is, Jesus lives to intercede for us and the Holy Spirit intercedes for us according to the Will of God.

The Spirit of Grace and Supplication, one of the seven Spirits of God, has been given to the Church. When we are energized by that Spirit, we will pray, hit the target accurately and Heaven will open over us, Zechariah 12: 10-14.

If we are going to ask for the release of Spirit of Grace and Supplication upon us today, we all need to repent of our rebellious, stubbornness and idolatrous practices so that the Blood of the Lamb can cleanse us from sin and make us have a right standing with God, Zechariah 13:1-2.

The anointing only follows the blood that is why Passover must come before Pentecost.

The prayer that is needed at this period is one that can target Heaven, which is given, produced and spoken by the release of the Spirit of Grace and Supplication upon us.

May the Spirit be released upon the entire congregation today as we repent of our rebellious, stubbornness and idolatrous practices.

Summary of Last Sunday Message
At last Sunday service the following notable things that happened in the month of May, called Zif, the second month in Ecclesiastical calendar were mentioned:

The census was ordered by God, Numbers 1:1-2, Building of the Temple of Solomon, 2 Chronicles 3:1-2.

The rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem, Ezra 3:8.

Everything was guided by the Hand of God to fall accurately into His timing of how things should be done.

This Day 14/5/2023, in Biblical History.

History has an uncanny way of repeating itself.

Those that do not learn from history  are condemned to repeat the blunders of history, and become history themselves, Ecclesiastes 1:4-10.

One notable thing that happened in biblical history exactly today was the unusual and irregular Passover celebration which took place in Israel on 14th May during the 2nd year of King Hezekiah’s reign.

We pray that what happened during the irregular Passover celebration in the days of King Hezekiah will repeat itself among us and in our Nation because Nigeria at this moment needs an Uncommon Open Heaven.

Message Focus.
In order to prevent misconception or misinterpretation, what was meant by Uncommon Open Heaven was clarified just as Paul the Apostle made things exceptionally plain while writing to Titus, Titus 1-15.

In Biblical history Heaven opens at different times and for different reasons, both for constructive and destructive purposes.

Examples:
There was a deluge that destroyed all flesh on the Earth the first time the Windows of Heaven opened, Genesis 7:11-12, 21-23.

God promised to open the Windows of Heaven and pour His blessings upon His people, Deuteronomy 28: 1-2.
The treasure of God is located in Heaven, Deuteronomy 28:12.
The passage warned against idolatrous practices  in verse 14.

Malachi 3:8 talks of a conditional open Heaven and promises to rebuke the devourer for our sake.

At the coronation of King Saul, God at the request of Prophet Samuel sent rain and thunder from Heaven, 1 Samuel 12 verse 13-19.

The encounter of King Ahaziah’s  Captains of fifty and Prophet Elijah was another instance of Open Heaven for destructive purposes, 1 Kings1:1-17.

Stephen the first Christian martyr  of the New Testament experienced Open Heaven, Acts 7:55-56. Stephen saw Jesus before seeing death. One who does not see Jesus before seeing death is lost forever.

The Uncommon Open Heaven which happened when people prayed in the days of King Hezekiah during the irregular Passover celebration was spearheaded by the King in the second year of his reign, 2 Chronicles 30:1-15.

What Passover is all about.
The Passover was instituted by God when He changed the Calendar in the middle of the year, and made April the first month of the year just before the Children of Israel were set free from captivity and bondage in Egypt, Exodus 12:1-14.

Today marks the beginning of deliverance of Nigeria from the grip of the terrible powers who pretend to be patriots, Jeremiah15:15-21.

Prayer.
Lord deliver this Nation from the grip of the terrible, from the hands of the wicked, from powers who pretend to be patriots. We decree,  declare  and establish today that Nigeria is delivered from the grips of the powers of oppressors, of wicked allies and rulers who do not understand the purpose of government. Those who enrich themselves at the expense of the people; this day deliver Nigeria from their hands in the Mighty Name of Jesus.*

Too many spectacular things happened during Passover celebration in Egypt, Exodus12: 23-24 and subsequently in the land of Canaan.

*The first born of every Egyptian household and the first born of their livestock were killed overnight.

-The engine room of tyranny and oppression was completely shattered.

-The Children of Israel plundered their oppressors before they left.

The Game-Changer has stepped into Nigeria, this day forward God will plunder our plunderer, Jeremiah 30:16.

God is not unjust when He plunders the plunderer because oftentimes He forewarned them.

God warned Egypt. Before the Lord instituted the Passover celebration  He announced the death of the firstborn, Exodus 11:1-8.

It is only Yahweh, Jehovah that can stop the mess, perversion and oppression in Nigeria today, Psalm 12:5.

The youths of the nation are the trustees of posterity – Benjamin Disraeli.

The second feast of Passover was celebrated in the land of Canaan.

It took place on the 14th day of the first month under the leadership of Joshua.

It was after the second generation was circumcised.

God on that occasion rolled away the reproach of Egypt from the Children of Israel Joshua 5:1-12.

Prayer.
Our youth will no longer be rebellious and stubborn. The Lord will roll away the reproach of Egypt from them.

Advice to Parents.
Parents are enjoined not to raise irresponsible young-adults, not to over pamper them. Young-adults should be given and trained  to accept responsibility.

It should be noted that the day the Children of Israel ate the produce of the land, manna ceased.
God stopped spoon-feeding them.

Since the land there was flowing with milk and honey, they had to raise cows to get milk and run a beehive to get honey.

14th Day of May in History.
My History has it that the same Passover meant to be celebrated on the 14th day of the first month was celebrated on the 14th day of the second month under the leadership of King Hezekiah.
There was a call for repentance throughout the land; the Priests and Levites humbled themselves.

As they celebrated the Passover despite their shortcomings, Heaven opened over the entire nation of Israel.

Their congregational prayers came unto Heaven – God’s Holy dwelling place.

Surprisingly God accepted their celebration and did the unusual.
That is what is called the Unusual Open Heaven, 2 Chronicles 30: 1-15, 2 Chronicles 30: 17-25.

Song of repentance, Psalm 107: 10-16.
